ATP Minimums
Following the Colgan Air crash in 2009, the FAA mandated that all First Officers flying for Part 121 passenger airlines hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
Unrestricted ATP Requirements

Restricted ATP (R-ATP)
You can reach the airlines faster if you qualify for a Restricted ATP.
- 750 Hours: Military Pilots
- 1,000 Hours: Graduates of approved 4-year aviation bachelor's degree programs.
- 1,250 Hours: Graduates of approved 2-year aviation associate's degree programs.
